How much solar can the Manager30 handle?

However, the Manager30 has no limit on how much solar can be connected to it, as long as the solar input voltage is less than 32V. With more than 520 watts of solar input, the battery management system can provide peak power for longer periods throughout the day, enhancing overall performance.

When adding extra solar panels to your system, it’s important to ensure that the solar panel specifications meet the requirements of the Manager30 system. The Manager30 can only accept a maximum solar input voltage of 32V. Can I add portable solar to a system with an existing fixed solar system?
Yes, when adding a portable panel into a system we add an Anderson plug into the system as pictured below.
Note: All ground (earth) circuits including the solar array need to be wired to the common ground (GND) side of the battery sensor assembly.
Do I need to change any programming in the Manager30 when adding extra solar?
No, there are no setting changes required in the Manager30 when adding extra solar panels.
What size cable do you recommend for 12V solar panels?
General cable size recommendations for 12V solar panels:
- Short Distances (less than 20 feet or 6 meters): Use 12-gauge (AWG) copper wire, which is suitable for most small-scale residential setups.
- Moderate Distances (20 to 50 feet or 6 to 15 meters): Opt for 10-gauge (AWG) copper wire. The thicker wire reduces voltage drop over longer distances.
- Long Distances (more than 50 feet or 15 meters): For larger installations or longer distances, use 8-gauge (AWG) copper wire to minimize voltage drop.
