Previous connection requirements
In earlier BCDC models, the blue wire had different connection requirements depending on the version:
BCDC12XX (Standard model): Blue wire connected to battery positive
BCDC12XX-LV (Low Voltage model): Blue wire connected to ignition
How the BCDC blue wire works
The BCDC1225D combines both Standard and Low Voltage (LV) functions into a single unit. This simplifies installation and removes the need to choose between separate models.
Blue wire connected to battery positive: The BCDC1225D will operate in Low Voltage (LV) mode.
Blue wire left disconnected: The BCDC1225D will operate in Standard mode.
This dual-function design gives installers and users more flexibility across different vehicle types and applications.
